GIRLS' GLEE CLUB

This year Osawatomie High School has been decidedly successful in her musical efforts.

The Girls' Glee Club, consisting of thirty-two members, greatly aided in establishing the musical reputation of the school. Twice each week, on Monday and Wednesday morning, sweet melodies float from the auditorium, echoing throughout the building. The girls have been invited to sing on many occasions at entertainments, chapels and also at the I.O.O.F. convention.

Twelve of the girls in the Glee Club were chosen to go to Emporia, Kansas, to enter the State Musical Contest, April 14-15. there were over seventy schools represented, with one thousand, two hundred twenty-three contestants. Here they received honorable mention.

In the Boys' Glee Club, there are twelve members. They, too, have appeared in Chapel.

On March 8, the two Glee clubs under the direction of our Music Director, Miss Rilla Shoemaker, gave an Operetta, consisting of forty characters, entitles, "the Merry Milkmaids," which proved a great success.

The school Orchestra consists of six violins, two trombones, three cornets, one saxophone, one cello; also traps and drums. It, too, has gained recognition in our musical world. they have been invited to play in Chapel, and at social gatherings and entertainments many times during the year.
