The big red and white
commenced the season with three straight wins over Osage
City, Burlington, and Gardner before stumbling to the
Louisburg Wildcats, 54 to 52. Getting back on the winning
track, the Trojans took three more opponents, which gave
them the first place trophy in the Christmas Tournament. The
basketeers started a three-game losing streak with their
upset by the Bonner Braves, 60 to 57. The other two defeats
were delivered by the DeSoto Wildcats and the Immaculata
Raiders. The Trojans redeemed themselves by defeating the
Blue Streaks from St. Joseph. The cagers journeyed to
Raymore-Peculiar to add another victory to their season.
Central Heights, Harrisonville, and Paola fell before the
onslaught of the mighty Trojans. Osawatomie, now
over-confident, experienced defeat again by the Gardner
Trailblazers by a score of 50 to 45. The regional play-offs
at Bonner Springs saw the Trojans start off exceptionally
well by easing by the Gardner Trailblazers. On their second
night of encounter, DeSoto upended our mighty warriors, and
they were to receive fourth place at the hands of the
Immaculata Raiders. This finished the season with 13 wins
and 8 losses. FIRST ROW: Jack
