keeping the ball rolling as she's done.
is for the irks we know we've caused her,
not reminding her we think she's quite the one.
is for the sample of our future
she's endowed us with by teaching us her trade.
is for her system she's established
from which she rarely ever has been swayed.
is for the machines she's master over,
knowing of their workings stem to stern.
is for the attitude she's shown us,
pointing out that praise is good to earn.
if for her teaching that she's always
done with expert care and little thanks.
is for the time she's put in on us,
aiding us to join in business ranks
is for her ideas on progressing,
making commerce courses what they are
is for the neatness in presenting
senior plays that are spectacular
is for the grand and gracious person
that we've had the privilege to know
is for the lady we'll remember
as from O.H.S. we soon will go
is for the yesterdays we'll favor
and just because she's been upon the scene.
In this simple way we hope we've told you,
Miss Mattingly, in our eyes, "You're a queen!"
