1959 OHS YEARBOOK

~ Kays ~

The Kay Board is composed of boys selected by the retiring president, the new officers, and the sponsors. Through the combined efforts of the Kay Board, the Kays participated in many activities throughout the year.

The Board consists of: C. Powell, B. Spellman, L. Brown, J. Parmenter, J. D. Coles, T. Coker, T. Speck, D. Shaw, K. Perry, L. McCourt, C. Chancellor, L. Mattingly, M. Sullins, J. Bussell

Making posters for the Kay-Kayette drive to clean up our school and school grounds is but one of the projects for the Kays. They also have projects for the community and the world. Among the projects for world service are: donating to Care, Red Cross, and Meals-for-Millions.

"Okay, Freshie, push that penny," orders a Kay. Each year the Freshmen have to demonstrate their "skills" in an assembly sponsored by the Kays. The result is hilarious laughter from the upper-classmen and definite discomfort from the Freshies.

Every year the Kays hold their annual "pop-party". This party is for their membership drive. This year the Kays membership was larger than in any of the past years. This organization is open to any of O.H.S. and many opportunities for training in cooperation, leadership, and good citizenship are offered to them.

SPONSORS, LEFT TO RIGHT: Mr. Martin, Mr. Swenson, Mr. Wren, Mr. Fink
