Osawatomie High School entered this year as a member of the State Debating League, with two teams. Helen Bryan, Harold Rynerson and Mildred Lanphere were on the affirmative team. Violet Morraine, Margaret Fry and Hearn Gudger made up the negative team. Our first debate was between Bucyrus and Osawatomie. Bucyrus' negative team came here and Osawatomie's negative team went to Bucyrus. The O.H.S. affirmative team lost, and the negative team won. There will be three debaters left for next year's team: Violet Morraine, Margaret Fry and Hearn Gudger. So, with this material available, O.H.S. will expect to claim the cup next year. |
