Seventy-nine students composed the O.H.S. Band, which was under the direction of Mr. Raymond G. Renoe. During the year they gave several performances for the community as well as the school.

This year the band took part in the Mid-America State Fair for the eighteenth consecutive year. During the half-time at home football games, programs were presented by the band.

ROW ONE: Bill Mills, Craig Whitt, Margaret Fowler, Janice Kramer, Marilyn Stevens, Jackie Powell, Paul Kapp; ROW TWO: Troy McCoach, Tom Troutman, Gary Filby, John Craig, Ronnie Hohenstein, Ronnie Barden, Bob Day.

A Pep Band was organized and provided entertainment during the basketball games. White jackets with the Trojan emblem were purchased for the season. Students were selected from the band to compose the Clarinet Choir, Brass Choir, and Dance Band.

On October 26 the band members participated in the KY Band Day and then returned to the University on April 3 to take part in the annual Music Festival.

VOCAL MUSIC PROVIDED BY ENSEMBLE

The Osawatomie High School mixed ensemble consisted of fourteen students and was accompanied by Brenda Dudley. Under the direction of Mr. Lyle McVay, the mixed ensemble participated in the Kay-Kayette Christmas program.
