JUNIOR CLASS HISTORY

Ninety-eight Freshmen entered high school in the fall of '26. These Freshmen were as green as Freshmen ever are, but Mr. York came to the rescue and he soon had them organized and started on their way.

The following class officers were elected; President, Sam Galegor; Vice-President, Earl Barrett; and Secretary-Treasurer, Nadine Weber.

The big event of the year was the class party given in the gym on Halloween. This party was a real success, everyone reported a splendid time, even the upperclassmen who tried to interfere reported the same thing.

By the end of the year this class had become a part of the institution and the class was rapidly making a name for itself.

The beginning of the fall term of '27 saw sixty-eight of the Freshmen of '26 resume their studies with new vigor and ambition. Mr. Fredericks became their sponsor. The class organized early. The following were elected as class officers: President: Leslie Kellogg; Vice-President, Wadene Barnett; and Secretary-Treasurer, Louise Eddy.

The class was well represented in all of the activities. Each one did his or her best to make the class better.

When the Junior year dawned the class was well prepared. The class had shown itself to be ambitious, peppy, and ready to meet any obstacle.

Miss Snead became sponsor. The class organized early, and chose the following to handle their affairs: Walter Osmon, President; Henry Stanley, Vice-President; and Mary Stanley, Secretary-Treasurer.

By this time the members of the class had become very outstanding in the various organizations.

Walter Osmon was football captain and Carl Thoms was elected captain for next year. Mordy Flint was the basketball captain.

In the music department, the class was represented as follows: Girls' Glee club - Mary Jane Andrews, Wadene Barnett, Vivien Bush, Arleene Galbraith, and Nadine Weber. Girls' Quartette - Arleene Galbraith. Boys' Glee Club - Jack Tegler, Dean Landis and Clarence Mooney. Boys' Quartette - Dean Landis and Clarence Mooney. Orchestra - Francis Colbert.

Eighteen girls from this class belonged to the G.R. Five Juniors were among the delegates to the G.R. Conference at Pittsburg. Three of the boys belonged to the Hi-Y. Jack Tegler was president of that organization.

Eighteen of our class belonged to the Dramatic Club.

We have been honored with the leadership of the Red and White Peppers for next year.

The class chapel program was enjoyed very much.

The Junior Class Play, "The Whole Town's Talking" by John Emerson and Anita Loos, was a great success. Miss Alder is to be thanked for the success of the play. The cast was as follows: Mr. Simmons, Dean Landis; Mrs. Simmons, Dorothy Piggott; Ethel Simmons, Mary Stanley; Chet Benney, Jack Tegler; Shields, Clarence Mooney; Swift, M. J. Crotty; Lela Wilson, Mary Jane Andrews; Sally Otis, Louise Eddy; Sadie Bloom, Arleene Galbraith; the Taxi Driver, James Brown; the Maid, Dorothy Riley; and Mrs. Jackson, Marcella Barnes.

The Junior-Senior Banquet given on May 11 was the climax to a very successful year. The idea carried out was a rose garden. This banquet was really beautiful and the Seniors pronounced it a real success.
