The funeral for Paula Luann Powell, Arlington, Texas, was held Tuesday in the Church of the Nazarene, followed by burial in Banner Cemetery. The Rev. Andrew Shimko and the Rev. Geoffrey Gunter officiated.

Memorial services for Mrs. Powell will be a 7 p.m. Thursday in the Arlington First Church of the Nazarene. Gunter will officiate.

Mrs. Powell, 47, died Saturday, Nov. 28, 1998 in Western Plains Regional Medical Complex in Dodge City after an unexpected sudden illness.

The daughter of Charles and Henrietta Christine Grantham Breedlove, she was born April 3, 1951 in Guthrie, Okla. She was a 1969 graduate of Osawatomie High School.

She lived in St. Louis, Mo. before moving to Arlington 17 years ago.

She and Gerald Lee Powell were married July 20, 1991 in Arlington.

Mrs. Powell was an accountant for Texas Health Resources, Las Callinas, Texas.

Her memberships included the Arlington First Church of the Nazarene of Arlington.

Survivors include her husband, Gerald, of the home; a son, Charles Wilson Bruce, Arlington; two stepsons, David Powell, Colorado Springs, and Mark Powell, Dodge City; her mother, of Issaquah, Wash; two brothers, Fred Breedlove, Fontana, and Chris Breedlove, Laurel, Miss.; three sisters, Charlotte Weaver, Spring Hill, Rita Sue Breedlove, Redmond, Wash., and Donna Jane Breedlove, Harleysville, Pa.; and two step grandchildren.

Haskell County Funeral Home cared for the arrangements.

Memorials have been established in her name to Asthma Research.
