Richard L. Wilson age 64, of Osawatomie, Kansas died Saturday, November 15, 2014 at the Olathe Medical Center in Olathe, Kansas.

Richard was born on November 15, 1950 in Paola, Kansas the second child of two born to Robert Gene and Royla June (Bowers) Wilson.

Richard was a lifelong resident of Osawatomie, he attended school in the Osawatomie School system graduating from Osawatomie High School with the class of 1968.

Richard served in the United States Army eserves from 1970-1976.

At the Osawatomie City Lake on June 26, 1976 with the sunset on the lake as the back drop, Richard married Debra Sue Barker. They made their home in Osawatomie and became the parents of two girls, Lindy and Jayme.

Richard always worked in construction in the drywall field. He worked for many different companies throughout the years. Finally starting up his own drywall company Wilson Drywall. Richard was a good worker and a great boss. Everyone loved working with him, his employees were not just the men at work, but they were his friends.

Richard loved his wife and daughters and for a really big guy when it came to them he was a push over. His daughters describe him as a “Big Teddy Bear”. When his daughter Lindy came home from college she brought a little dog with her. A Shi-Tzu named “Sadie” Richard told her “no, they were not having a dog”. But of course as dads do with their little girls the dog did stay, and soon he and Sadie were inseparable. When Lindy later was moving out on her own Richard told her “Sadie is not going anywhere”. His wife put it quite well saying, “Richard was the best little boy a dog could have.”

He was a devoted husband, an amazing father and an incredible grandfather. Everyone would definitely call him a good hearted person. Many people will miss him dearly.

Richard was preceded in death by his parents and his brother Bobby Wilson on October 5, 1991 at the age of forty-four.
