William George “Bill” Walker, age 61, of Garnett, Kansas, died Friday, February 17, 2012 at the Golden Heights Living Center in Garnett, Kansas.

Bill was born March 22, 1950 in Garnett, Kansas to Eldridge Wesley and Helen Violet (McDonald) Walker. He was the eldest of two children.

He attended Parker Grade School and graduated from the Osawatomie High School in the class of 1968. He also attended Fort Scott Community College for a short time.

Bill began working for Mid America Pipe Line out of Moberly, Missouri. He then became a Brakeman for the Missouri Pacific out of Osawatomie, Ks.

Bill was married for a short time to Debby Wilson. Bill was in a car wreck on March 13, 1970 just north of Osawatomie, Kansas.

Bill was raised in the United Methodist Church in Parker, Ks.

After the car wreck Bill lived at the Golden Heights Living Center where his favorite past time was teasing the girls that worked for the Living Center. He liked muscle cars and really enjoyed his visitors at the Living Center, especially Sonny and Mattie.

He was preceded in death by his mother.

He survived by his father; one sister, Julie Lynne Weber and husband, Ron of Independence, Kansas; one nephew, Jimmy and wife Rachel of Independence, Ks.; one niece, Sarah and husband Jimmy of Independence, Ks.; twelve Great Nieces and Nephews; and many friends.

Graveside Services will be held at 1:30pm, Wednesday, February 22, 2012 at the Goodrich Cemetery, Goodrich, Kansas.
