Charles Eldon Landers, 52, Osawatomie, died Sunday, July 14, 2002, in his home after an extended illness. He was born July 11, 1950, in Paola, the youngest of the two children of Eldon Watt and Thelma Doreen Ferguson Landers. He was a 1968 graduate of Osawatomie High School. During his working years he worked at several jobs. From 1970 to 1974 he worked as a janitor for Mode O'Day and from 1974 to 1979 at BEHM Co., both in Osawatomie. He was self employed in light cleaning from 1980 to 1986 for the city of Osawatomie and Eddy=Birchard Funeral Home. From 1986 to 1988 he was emplo9yed at R&O in Olathe. He retired due to poor health in 1988.

"is memberships included the First Presbyterian Church, Boy Scouts of America Troop 106, Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks Lodge No. 921 and a bowling league, all of Osawatomie. Survivors include his parents of Osawatomie; a sister, Shirley Doreen Whitacker of Stover, MO; and two brothers, Lester Eugene Young of Abilene, Kan., and Larry Orville Young of Osawatomie. Services were Wednesday in Eddy-Birchard Funeral Home in Osawatomie with burial in Osawatomie Cemetery. A Boy Scout service was held Tuesday night in the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the Boy Scouts Camp Nash Endowment Fund or Elks Lodge No. 921."
