CLASS OF 1967 JUNE 25, 1949 - MAY 17, 1993 Services for Donna Jean Goodwin, 6509 W 72nd Terrace, Overland Park, were held Saturday in Eddy-Birchard Funeral Home. Mrs. Goodwin, 43, died Monday, May 17, 1993, in the University of Kansas Medical Center, Kansas City, Kan. She was born June 25, 1949, in Dayton, Ohio and was the daughter of Don E. and Reita Elliott. At the age of two weeks, she was adopted by John Wiley and Mildred Pauline Sage Lambert. She grew up in Osawatomie where she attended school, graduating from Osawatomie High School with the class of 1967. She attended Clarks Business College in Topeka and then became an X-ray technician at St. Luke's Hospital in Kansas City, Mo. She later attained the level of technician in nuclear medicine and worked at the University of Kansas Medical Center from February 1991 until February 1993 when she became ill. She and George Skitt were married Sept. 23, 1971. Their marriage ended in divorce June 7, 1972. She and Richard Jennings were married Jan. 10, 1975. They were divorced April 4, 1978. She and Clarence Frederick Goodwin, Jr. were married Aug. 5, 1979, in Iola. They lived in Iola, in Arkansas and Texas before moving to Overland Park in 1991. Mrs. Goodwin was a member of the American Registry of Radiological Technicians and Nuclear Medicine Technologist Certification Board. Survivors include her husband, Clarence, of the home; a son, Johnathan Michael Goodwin, age 4, of the home; her mother, Mildred Lambert, Osawatomie; her natural father of Harriman, Tenn; a sister Dorothy Christine Elliott Eynon, Chino, Calif.; and a brother, Charles Edwin Elliott, Planterville, Texas. The Rev. Ted Hunter conducted the services. Pallbearers were James Traylor, Craig Frank, Jay Spicer, David Preston, Tyrone Simmons and Jerry Hill. Burial was in the Green Valley Cemetery. A memorial has been established in her name to the American Diabetes Association. |
