Stephen Ray Cottrell, age 59, of Paola, Kansas, died December 29, 2008, at his home.

Steve was born November 25, 1949 at Paola, Kansas. He was the son of Clarence Ray "Butch" Cottrell and Paralee "Pat" Howard.

Steve attended Osawatomie High School and graduated with the Class of 1967. He resided in Kansas City for several years after graduating from high school. He later moved back to Osawatomie and worked in the oil fields. He was currently managing Miami Pipeline out of his home.

His main hobbies were antiques and cars.

He was preceded in death by his father. He is survived by his mother Pat Howard of Osawatomie, his daughter Keely of Olathe, his brother Troy of Osawatomie, Kansas, and his sister Debbie of Ottawa.

A memorial service will be held at 1:30 p.m., Saturday, January 3, 2009 at the Eddy-Birchard Funeral Home in Osawatomie. Memorials are to the First Christian Church of Osawatomie or the Salvation Army.
