CLASS OF 1966 JULY 23, 1947 - JUNE 22, 2002 Eleanora L. Fisher, 54, and her husband, Richard C. Fisher, 57 died Saturday, June 22, 2002. (From the article published June 23, 2002: Las Vegas police said a van dirver caused a traffic accident that killed a man and a woman on a motorcycle Saturday morning. The victims, Richard Fisher, 57, and Eleanora Fisher, 54, were killed in the 8:59 a.m. crash on Sahara Avenue near Nellis Bvld. Police reported that a 57 year old man was driving his motorcycle west on Sahara with a female passenger. As they approached Lamont Street, a van driven by 49-year-old Graciela Gastelum of Las Vegas was idling at a stop sign on southbound Lamont. Gastelum was preparing to cross westbound lanes and turn left onto eastbound Sahara. Gastelum did not see the motorcycle and pulled into its path. The motorcycle driver applied the brakes and the vehicle went down onto its side before slamming into the van. Both motorcycle riders wer found dead when paramedics arrived. Cause appeared to be Gastelum failing to yield right of way from a stop sign.) A homemaker, Eleanora Fisher was born July 23, 1947, in Paola, Kansas and was a member of Cat Fancy Almanac. She was a 1966 graduate of Osawatomie High School, Osawatomie, KS. Richard Fisher was born November 13, 1944, in St. Louis and was the owner of a financial services company and a member of the Honda Riders Club, Cat Fancy Almanac and the Electronic Transactions Association. They were three-year residents of Las Vegas. They are survived by their son, Richard, of Las Vegas, daughters, Danise Mohney of Seneca, Kansas, Daniell Gile of Kansas City, Missouri, and Shannon of Las Vegas; his daughter and her stepdaughter, Kelly Brooks of Atlanta; and eight grandchildren. Memorial services will be at 6:30 p.m. at Palm Mortuary-Cheyenne. |
