Esther Rene Collins, 56, Ottawa, a former Osawatomie resident, died July 12, 2004, at Stormont-Vail Regional Medical Center in Topeka.

The daughter of Albert and Neives Vasquez Dela-Cruz, she was born in Paola on Sept. 23, 1947. She graduated from Osawatomie High School with the Class of 1966.

She was married to Robert Collins on April 10, 1983, in Ottawa.

Mrs. Collins was employed as a housekeeper at Econo Lodge in Ottawa from 1996 to May 2002.

Her parents preceded her in death.

Surviving are her husband, Robert Collins, a daughter, Denise Collins, and a son, Scott Collins, all of the home; a stepdaughter, Kristin Ferris of St. Joseph, Mo.; a sister, Debbie Folsom of Osawatomie; two brothers, Tom Dela-Cruz of Olathe and her twin, Steven Dela-Cruz of Osawatomie; and six grandchildren.

Graveside services were held July 19, 2004 at Mt. Calvary Cemetery in Ottawa.
