CLASS OF 1965 MARCH 29, 1947 - FEBRUARY 27, 2006 Linda Marlene McDowell, 58, Ottawa, a former Osawatomie resident, died Monday, Feb. 27, 2006, in the Richmond Health Care and Rehabilitation Center in Richmond. She was born March 29, 1947, in Kansas City, Kan., the oldest of three children born to Marlin Frank and Millie Earlene Gorton Weis. She grew up in Osawatomie and graduated in 1965 from Osawatomie High School. In 1966, she married Jacob Walter Bellinger. They became the parents of two sons. Their marriage ended in divorce in 1977. She married Eldon McDowell in 1989 in Miami County. She moved to Ottawa from Osawatomie in May 2005. They were divorced in January. She worked as a secretary for her parents at Weis Appliances and then went to work for K.R. Johnson Oil Well Supplies, both in Osawatomie. She later worked for Zenith in Overland Park. She was a member of St. Philip Neri Catholic Church in Osawatomie. She was baptized by her sister, Gayle, two weeks ago. Her hobbies included crafts, shopping and scrapbooking photo albums. Those surviving are her two sons, Michael Bellinger of Ottawa and Brian Bellinger of Pullman, Wash.; one brother Gary Weis of Osawatomie; one sister Gayle Pretz of Osawatomie; three grandchildren; and one stepgrandson. Graveside services were Thursday in Osawatomie Cemetery under the direction of the Eddy-Birchard Funeral Home of Osawatomie. Pallbearers were Matt Pretz, Ben Pretz, Chuck Weis, Larry Weis, Ryan Bellinger, Keith McReynolds and Jimmy Bellinger. Memorials are to the Osawatomie High School scholarship fund. |
