Jane Romero, 59, Artesia, N.M., a former Osawatomie resident, died Friday, Dec. 16, 2005, in the Artesia General Hospital emergency room.

She was born June 26, 1946, in Osawatomie, the daughter of Clarence and Eva Yocum Johnson. She was a 1964 graduate of Osawatomie High School.

She had lived in Artesia since 1972, moving there from Kansas. She worked as a homemaker.

Those preceding her in death were her parents, a brother and a sister.

Survivors include her daughter, Rhonda Ramirez of Artesia; a brother, Jerry Johnson of Garden Grove, Calif.; two sisters, JoHanna Megyeri and Clarice Matney, both of Olathe; and a granddaughter.

Memorials services were Dec. 20 in Terpening and Son Mortuary in Artesia. Direct cremation was cared for by the mortuary.

NOTE: At the time of Jane's passing, her sister, Clarice, was still living. Clarice passed away the next day, Dec. 17.
