CLASS OF 1963 MARCH 24, 1945 - JULY 10, 2014 Leslie Charles Les Farris age 69 of Osawatomie, KS died Thursday July 10, 2014 at Olathe Medical Center. Les was born March 24, 1945 in Osawatomie, KS to Harold and Martha (Fields) Farris. He is one of nine children. He attended school in Osawatomie and graduated with the OHS Class of 1963. Immediately after high school Les began working for Hallmark Cards as a stock handler in 1963. He advanced in the organization and retired a warehouse manager in 2000 after 37 years of service. While working at Hallmark he met Joanne Elaine Logan and they married on November 1, 1964 in Clearmont, Missouri. Les and Joanne made their home in Osawatomie and became the parents of two children, Tracy and Troy. They enjoyed over 49 years of marriage. After retirement he managed the Elks Lodge in Osawatomie for a number of years. He loved camping/fishing with his family and relaxing on his pontoon boat. He cherished hosting holiday celebrations for his entire family and time spent with them. Les also loved detailing vehicles, especially his 1986 Chevy Silverado truck. He had an appreciation for classic cars and even entered his truck a couple of times. In addition to enjoying the time spent with his famly, he was an enthusiastic party planner and liked to BBQ. He was a great story teller and loved to visit with people. Les is proceeded in death by his parents and his brother-in-law Cordy Hendrickson. He is survived by his wife Joanne of the home. Daughter Tracy (Cole) Eason of Kansas City, MO, Son Troy (Lynette) Farris of Osawatomie. Seven Grandchildren: Nick (Lacie), Natalie, Courtney (Duane), Samantha, Caleb, Abigail and TJ. One great grandchild, Elle.
