CLASS OF 1962 JUNE 12, 1943 - JANUARY 28, 2006 Piakney Lee Harris Walker, 62, a former Paola resident, died Saturday, Jan. 28,2006, in his home in Osawatomie. Known as "Pinkey," he was born June 12, 1943, in Little Rock, Ark., the son of James Walker and Leona Lee Harris. He graduated in 1962 from Osawatomie High School and attended college in Southern California. He spent some time in Paola. He married Juanita Perkins and they became the parents of three children, P.J., Trinisha and Veronica. The married ended in divorce. He met Sue Clay in 1983 and they made their home in Osawatomie and were together until his death. Mr. Walker enjoyed hunting, fishing, tinkering with electronics and refinishing wood furniture. His parents; a brother, Leon Walker; and a sister, Mary Mebane, preceded him in death. Those surviving are his wife, Sue Clay of Osawatomie; his son, P.J. Walker of Overland Park; three daughters, Trinisha Garrett and Veronica Walker, both of Paola, and Janine Brown of Topeka; a brother, Wilson Harris of Syracuse, N.Y.; and eight grandchildren. Memorial services were Monday in First Mount Olivet Baptist Church in Paola. He was cremated at the request of the family.
