Cheryl Diane Babcock, 66, of Bartlesville, died early Thursday morning at her home. Services for Mrs. Babcock will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, June 19, 2010 at St. Luke's Episcopal Church in Bartlesville with Father T. Lee Stephens officiating. Cremation arrangements are under the direction of the Stumpff Funeral Home & Crematory.

A memorial has been established and those who wish may send their contributions to the St. Luke's Episcopal Church, 210 S.E. Ninth Street, Bartlesville, Oklahoma, 74003.

Cheryl Diane Babcock was born to Harold F. and Dora Grace Smith at Hardner, Kansas on June 9, 1944 where her Father was working for Phillips Pipeline Co. Cheryl and her family moved frequently following the pipeline work finally residing in Osawatomie, Kansas where she attended Osawatomie High School and was involved in band, chorus and cheerleading. Cheryl attended Phillips University, in Enid Oklahoma majoring in music and elementary education. She met Robert soon after arriving in Enid. Cheryl and Robert were married after graduation while she was teaching at Taft Elementary School.

Robert was soon stationed in Hawaii with the U. S. Army where David Christopher was born at Tripler Army Hospital, Honolulu, Hawaii. The family then moved to Bartlesville, Oklahoma where Robert was employed with Phillips Petroleum Company. Soon Mary Beth was born and the family lived in Bartlesville for a number of years. Cheryl involved herself in Saint Luke's Episcopal Church and community activities including P.E.O., a neighborhood sewing group, Service League and Questers. She also enjoyed employment for a number of years by the University of Oklahoma as sight representative at Shin'en Kan giving tours and hosting business conferences.

Cheryl and Robert moved to Borger, Texas in 1992 and returned to Bartlesville in 2003 after Robert's retirement. Cheryl's primary interest became home decorating and gardening.

Cheryl is survived by her mother, Dora Grace Smith Bailey; by her husband, Robert; her Son David Christopher Babcock and family; and her daughter Mary Beth Babcock.
