ROBERT GRIGSBY

CLASS OF 1962

AUGUST 23, 1944 - FEBRUARY 19, 1989

Robert Grigsby, 44, Gardner, died Sunday, February 19, 1989, at Country Haven Nursing Center in Paola.

He was born August 23, 1944, in Stanton Township in Miami County, the son of Howard and Mary Smith Grigsby. He had lived in this area most of his life.

He was an Army veteran of the Vietnam War.

On December 12, 1964, he was united in marriage to Wanda Noland at La Cygne.

Mr. Grigsby was a forklift operator for the Marley Cooling Tower Co. from 1969 to 1979.

He was a member of the Buena Vista Baptist Church of Gardner.

His mother preceded him in death.

Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Wanda Grigsby, and a 9-year –old daughter, Lisa Grigsby, both of the home in Gardner; his father, Howard Grigsby, Rt 1, Osawatomie; a brother, Laverne Grigsby of Overland Park; and a sister, Mrs. Marjorie Castleberry of Muskogee, OK.

Services were held at Wilson and Son Funeral Home in Paola. The Rev. Richard Crooks, pastor of the First Baptist Church of Paola, was the officiant. Music was provided by Mrs. Liz Wilson, accompanied on the organ by Mrs. Virginia Reese.

Burial was in the Osawatomie Cemetery.
