CLASS OF 1961 DECEMBER 27, 1943 - NOVEMBER 11, 1999 Karen Sue Waggoner, 55, Welda, died Thursday, Nov. 11, 1999 in Anderson County Hospital, Garnett. She had been in failing health since 1992 and unable to work. Born Dec. 27, 1943 in Osawatomie, she was the daughter of Curtis Carmichael and Ocie Jewel Stanley Watson. She grew up in Osawatomie, attended local schools and was a 1961 graduate of Osawatomie High School. On Feb. 21, 1969 she and William A. Waggoner were married in Miami, Okla. They made their home in Osawatomie until moving to Humboldt in 1991. They had lived in Welda since early 1998. Mrs. Waggoner worked as a dispatcher for the Kansas Highway Patrol, the Miami County Sheriff's Department and the Osawatomie Police Department. She had also worked for King Radio. Among those preceding her in death were her parents; two brothers, James Watson and Bobby Watson; and a half brother, Roy Weaver. Survivors include her husband, William, of the home; a son, Michael Waggoner of Humboldt; four daughters, Sherri Hoskins of Osawatomie, Lisa Morrison of Lone Elm, Kimberly Miller of Dayton, Ohio and Shonolea Schulze of Humboldt; a stepson, William Potson of Atlanta, Ga.; a stepdaughter, Tammy Chase of Louisiana; a brother, Merle Watson of Lane; and 15 grandchildren. Services were Monday in Eddy-Birchard Funeral Home. Pallbearers were Don Waddle, Donald Powell, Steve Coffelt, Rick Watson, John Shay and Rodney Shay. Burial was in Osawatomie Cemetery.
