Janice Elaine "Jan" Gard, 52, of Fulton, died Thursday, May 9, 1996, at the St. Mary's Hospital in Jefferson City.

Jan was born October 26, 1943, in Osawatomie, Kansas, a daughter of Clarence and Linnie (Jenkins) Mooney. She married Bill Gard on April 17, 1983 in Tebbetts. He survives her.

She attended Court Street United Methodist Church, she was a former employee of the Kingdom of Callaway Chamber of Commerce. She served on the Kingdom Days Committee for a number of years. Jan was recently office manager for KFAL-KKCA Radio Station in Fulton.

Survivors include, two daughters, Shelly Neal of St. John, U.S. Virgin Islands and Leslie Neal of Fulton, one step-daughter, Cheryl Gilleland of Fulton, one step-son, Charles Gard of Mexico, six grandchildren and many close friends.

She was preceeded in death by an infant son.

A memorial service was held at the Court Street United Methodist Church with Reverand Jim Robinson officiating.

Arrangements were under the direction of Maupin Funeral Home.

Memorial contributions were to the Kingdom of Callaway Chamber of Commerce or the National Arbor Day Fountation.

Burial was at Riverview Cemetery, Tebbetts.Callaway County, Missouri.
