Maxine Judy Magers, 65, Paola, died Aug. 2, 2009, at North Point Skilled Nursing.

Known as Judy, she was born Sept. 2, 1943, in Paola to James and Mae Burgoon Masters. She was raised in Parker and Osawatomie and graduated from Osawatomie High School with the Class of 1961.

On Nov. 1, 1963, she married Kenneth A. Magers in Osawatomie, and after 27 years, they divorced.

She worked as a candy striper at the Osawatomie State Hospital as a youth, and as an adult, she worked as a health care provider.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Survivors are her son, Jimmy Magers, and daughter, Jody Krogsdale, both of Louisburg, and six grandchildren.
