Delores Jean (Burgoon) Windler, age 65, of Paola, Kansas, formerly of Osawatomie, died September 8, 2008 at her son's home in Fontana.

Delores was born November 22, 1942 at Osawatomie, Kansas. She was the daughter of the late Wilber J. "Bud" Burgoon and Florence E. (Wallace) Burgoon. She grew up in Osawatomie and graduated from Osawatomie High School with the Class of 1961.

She was married to Warren Lester Windler on August 27, 1962. They made their home in Paola and became the parents of four children. Their marriage ended in divorce in 1985.

In 1985, Delores moved back to Osawatomie. She moved to Rantoul for a short time and then moved back to Osawatomie where she lived until the flood in 2007. After the flood, she moved to Paola. Due to her failing health, she moved in with her son at his home in Fontana a week ago.

She enjoyed reading, completing crosswords, and embroidering.

She was a member of the Beagle United Methodist Church. She was also a member of the United Methodist Women of Beagle and the Rebekah's of Garnett.

She was preceded in death by her father. She is survived by her mother Florence Burgoon of Beagle; four children Betty Furman of Stillwater, Oklahoma, Larry Windler of Fontana, Bill Windler of Osawatomie, and Cindy Windler of Joplin, Missouri; four brothers Wilber E. "Buddy" Burgoon of Beagle, Jerry Burgoon of Beagle, Fred Burgoon of Wamego, Kansas, and Carl Burgoon of Overbrook, Kansas; 14 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; other relatives and friends.

Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m., Friday, September 12, 2008 at Parker Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Larry Windler, Bill Windler, Danny Vickers, Steven Windler, Travis Boyd, and Victor Furman. Memorials are to the American Cancer Society.
