CLASS OF 1960 APRIL 2, 1942 - JANUARY 11, 2009 Judith Kay Scheinert, 66, Paulden, Ariz., formerly of Osawatomie, died Sunday, Jan. 11, 2009, at Yapapai County Medical Center in Prescott, Ariz. Born April 2, 1942, she was the daughter of Vernon Dale and Mary Christine Matherly Van Horn. She was the oldest of their three children and a 1960 graduate of Osawatomie High School. On June 3, 1960, she and James R. Scheinert were married in Paola. They made their home in Osawatomie and became the parents of three children. He preceded her in death in December 1989. She had lived in Arizona since May 1999. She worked as a certified nurses aide in a nursing home and also at King Radio in Paola and the Daisy Plant in Gardner. In 1981, she was diagnosed with muscular dystrophy. She enjoyed playing bingo, listening and dancing to music and reading. She also liked to watch old black and white re-runs and the Game Show Network on television. She loved talking on the telephone to her family and friends. Mrs. Scheinert was a member of the First Christian Church in Paola. Others preceding her in death included two sisters, Linda Pennock and Rebecca Eilts. Survivors include her mother, Mary Van Horn of Osawatomie; two daughters, Jacque Isenhower of Osawatomie and Jeana Ronnebaum of Axtell, Kan.; a son, James D. Scheinert of Overland Park; five grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and her caregiver, Don Brewer of Paulden. Services were Monday in Osawatomie Cemetery. Pallbearers were Larry Isenhower, Lynn Ronnebaum, James D. Scheinert, Gesse Scheinert, Jeremy Isenhower, B.J. Eilts. Honorary pallbearers were John Graves and Clifford Durland.
