WENDELL MERLE "BOBO" TURNER, JR.

Wendell Merle "Bobo" Turner, Jr., age 65, of Olathe, Kansas died Monday, March 17, 2008 at the Olathe Medical Center, Olathe, Kansas.

Wendell was born December 26, 1942 in Osawatomie, Kansas. He was the third of seven children of Wendell Merle Turner, Sr. and Dorothy Iona Orr Turner. Wendell attended the Methodist Church while growing up. He graduated from Osawatomie High School with the class of 1960.

Wendell joined the U.S. Navy on July 30, 1960 and was stationed at the U. S. Naval Station, Long Beach, California. He then was transferred to the U. S. Naval Reserve on February 24, 1964.

Wendell was married to Snow Suzan in Riverside, California in the mid '60's. They were the parents of two sons, Warren and Jerome. They were divorced in the mid '70's.

He was employed by the Missouri Pacific Railroad for several years. He was married to Judy Carol Bruce in Osawatomie, Kansas on October 23, 1981. They made their home in Olathe, Kansas. Wendell last worked at the Webco Manufacturing in Olathe, Kansas as a welder from 1991 to 2000 when his health failed.

He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, one as an infant and Jerry Turner. Wendell is survived by his wife Judy of the home; three sons, Warren Turner, Jerome Turner, and Roderick Moore; two step-sons, John Bruce and Jeff Bruce; one daughter, Rochell Harris; two step-daughters, Mindi Bruce and Toiya Franklin; one brother, Thomas "Tucker" Turner of Gardner, Kansas; three sisters, Alice Holt of Topeka, Kansas, Delores Nelson of Topeka, Kansas, and Donna Smith of Osawatomie, Kansas; many grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Memorial services will be held at 1 PM, Saturday, March 22 at the Eddy-Birchard Funeral Home in Osawatomie, Kansas.
