Walter G. Stringham, 79, Bucyrus, died Wednesday, Feb. 17, 2010, in Kansas City, MO.

Born Feb. 25, 1930, in Osawatomie he was the son of Willard S. and Lillian Henry Stringham.

From 1951 until 1953 he served with the U. S.Army.

He and his wife Evelyn were married Feb. 25,1967, in Prairie Village. She preceded him in death on Sept. 19, 2009.

Mr. Stringham worked in the lumberyard business until retiring in 1989.

Survivors include two sons, Ron Stringham of Osawatomie and Willard Stringham of Bucyrus; a daughter Janet Chmidling of Gardner; and four grandchildren.

Services were private. Arrangements were cared for by Penwell-Gabel Funeral Home of Louisburg. Burial was in Bucyrus Cemetery.

Memorials may be made in his name to the charity of the donor's choice.
