William L. Michael, 73, Memphis, Tenn., a former Osawatomie resident, died Wednesday, Jan. 19, 2005, in St. Francis Hospital in Memphis.

He was a 1948 graduate of Osawatomie High School and was married to the former Peggy Dryden of Osawatomie, who survives of the home.

Mr. Michael worked for Missouri Pacific Railroad in Osawatomie. He was transferred to Little Rock, Ark., before being moved on to Memphis.

Those preceding him in death include a daughter, who died in infancy, and a son who drowned.

Survivors also include a daughter, Cindy Patten of Columbus, Ga., and two grandchildren.

Services were Jan. 22 in Memphis.

Barbara Dryden Booe and her grandson, Jeffery Needham, both of Osawatomie, and Michael Dryden of Edgerton, Mo., attended the services to be with their sister and aunt.
