Memorial services for Alice Royce Pulliam, 74, Lawrence, will be at 2 p.m. Dec. 12 in the Mayflower Room of Plymouth Congregational Church. Inurnment will be at a later date in the Osawatomie Cemetery.

Mrs. Pulliam died Monday, Nov. 29, 2004, at Lawrence Memorial Hospital.

She was born Sept. 21, 1930, in Arkadelphia, Ark., the daughter of Roy and Melba Terrill.

Mrs. Pulliam graduated from Osawatomie High School in 1947 and received a bachelor's degree in home economics and textiles from Kansas University. She was a co-owner of Terrill's Department Store and Alice's Closet. She also worked in sales for Olin Mills Studios and was co-manager of various storage unit complexes.

She was a member of the United Church of Christ, Plymouth Congregational Church and Chi Omega sorority. She was a member of the KU marching band from 1948 to 1952. She served as a Girl Scout leader, president and member of Pinckney School PTA and was on the United Way Allocations Board. She also was active in various community groups when her husband served as mayor in 1971. She volunteered for the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation.

She married Joe Robert Pulliam on Jan. 26, 1951, in Lawrence. He survives.

Other survivors include four daughters, Stefanie Pulliam, Wichita, Terri Pulliam, Kansas City, Kan., and Cammie Braden and Lisa Pulliam, both of Lawrence; and nine grandchildren.

The family suggests memorials to the International Essential Tremors Foundation, sent in care of Warren-McElwain Mortuary.
