Alma was a 1947 graduate of Osawatomie High School. She was a member of the Plum Creek Methodist Church for more than 50 years and the treasurer of U.M.W. for many years. She loved to cook and helped serve many of the church dinners.

She was a homemaker and helped her husband on the farm where they lived their entire married life. She loved to crochet, quilt and sew and made many clothes, baby quilts, Raggedy Ann and Andy dolls, and sock monkeys for all the grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She crocheted tablecloths for each of her children and many Christmas and wedding gifts were doilies that she made. She also crocheted and donated to her church a large wall hanging of the “Lord’s Prayer” and the curtains for every window of the church.

She was well known for her cinnamon rolls, homemade rolls, and donuts that she made on many occasions for her family’s many dinners and church events.
