JACK KLAWONN

Jack Klawonn, 74, Bradenton, Fla., a former Paola resident, died Thursday, April 29, 2004.

He was born Dec. 5, 1929, in York, Neb., the son of Lee and Helen Messplay Klawonn. The family moved to Paola when he was in the seventh or eighth grade. He was a 1947 graduate of Osawatomie High School.

He married Lorene Light on Sept. 8, 1950, in Cadmus. They lived in Paola and moved to Florida after retirement.

Mr. Klawonn retired as plant superintendent for Gulf & Western/Taylor Forge Engineered Systems in Paola. At the time of his death, he was employed by Lux Art Silks in Manatee County.

Work was his hobby.

A son, Bobby Klawonn, and a brother, Bob Klawonn, were among those preceding him in death.

Surviving are his wife, Lorene Klawonn of the home; a son, William Klawonn of Bradenton; a daughter, Lori Fountain Guillaume of Sarasota, Fla.; six grandchildren; and one great-granddaughter.
