Sterling, Alaska resident Loretta J. "Jean" Brown, 82, died Tuesday, May 29, 2012 at Central Peninsula Hospital in Soldotna.

At Jean's request, no services are planned.

Jean was born Dec. 22, 1929 in Osawatomie, Kansas to William and Bessie (Spellman) Elkinton. She graduated from Osawatomie High School with the Class of 1947.

She retired from Delta Airlines after working for Western Airlines and Delta Airlines for 20 years in Anchorage, Alaska.

Jean was preceded in death by her parents; sons, Daryl and Dennis; brothers, Bill and Edd; sisters, Juanita and Elaine; grandson, Victor, and great-grandson, Christopher.

She is survived by her daughters, Sheryl, Regina, and Debra; numerous grandchildren; several great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandson.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be sent to Elkinton Scholarship Fund, c/o Hobe Sound Bible College, P.O. Box 1065, Hobe Sound, FL 33475.
