Richard Lee Dugan age 84, of Osawatomie, KS died Monday, August 05, 2013 at the Olathe Medical Center in Olathe, KS.

Richard was the only child born to Ester Lee and Leathea (McCutcheon) Dugan on April 7, 1929 in Osawatomie, KS.

Richard’s father died when he was young. As a teenager Richard worked for a local butcher shop.

He attended school in Osawatomie. He played the clarinet in the high school band and graduated from Osawatomie High School with the class of 1947.

In October of 1954 he married Phyllis Elizabeth Martin. They made their home in Osawatomie and became the parents of three children. The marriage ended in divorce.

Richard was an electrician by trade and worked for nine and a half years for Missouri Pacific Railroad. Later he worked for the Bendix Corporation.

He enjoyed model railroading and was an avid coin collector.

Richard was a former member of the Osage Valley Lodge #24 AF&AM of Osawatomie, and a member of the IBEW Local #124.

Richard was preceded in death by his parents.

He is survived by his children: David Lee (Karen) Dugan of Basehor, KS, Richard Kent Dugan of New Orleans, LA, and Laura Lea (Randy) Henness of Osawatomie, KS. Richard has seven grandchildren: Matthew David, Sean Christopher, and Benjamin Michael Dugan, Derek Anthony, Ryan Michael, Aaron Joseph, and Rachel Elizabeth Henness; four great grandchildren: Isla Faye Henness, Emerson Ann Waggoner, Gabriel Matthew and Michael Joseph Dugan.
