OCTOBER 30, 1929 - JANUARY 15, 1999

Eugene E. Beaver, 69, a former resident of Paola and Osawatomie, died Friday, Jan. 15, 1999, at his home in rural Oskaloosa, Kansas.

He was born Oct. 30, 1929 at Seminole, Okla., the son of Clarence and Mary Harvey Beaver. He was a 1947 graduate of Osawatomie High School.

He was married to Helen M. Perdue Conway on Dec. 2, 1956 at Paola. They moved to the Perry, Kan., area from Paola in 1964.

Mr. Beaver was a purchasing agent and customer service representative for the United Corp. in Topeka. He retired in 1997 after 22 years of service. He formerly worked as a parts manager for the Hydratool Co., in Topeka for 10 years and for the List & Clark Construction Co. for two years.

He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Paola.

He served as a Scoutmaster in Paola and Perry for more than 25 years. He served as assistant district commissioner for Boy Scouts of America and received the Merit Award.

e was a member of the Fairview Volunteer Fire Department in rural Oskaloosa. He was a longtime member of the Perry Lions Club. He was a past worthy patron of the Ramona Chapter Order of the Eastern Star in Perry and was a member of the Fontana Lodge AF&AM.

Surviving are his wife, Helen Beaver of the home; two sons, David Conway of Cohoes, N.Y. and Michel Conway of rural Oskaloosa; a sister, Clarice Beaver of Wichita; and a grandson.

Services were at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the Barnett Funeral Home in Oskaloosa, with the Rev. Larry Wright officiating. Burial was in the Oak Ridge Cemetery at Perry.
