THELMA STONE SPRINGER

AUGUST 24, 1928 - OCTOBER 21, 2008

Thelma Maxine Springer, 80, died Tuesday, October 21, 2008 at Western Plains Medical Complex at Dodge City, KS. She was born on August 24, 1928 at Osawatomie, KS the daughter of Roby and Esteleen (Moraine) Stone.

She graduated from Oswatomie High School. Mrs. Springer enjoyed sewing and quilting in her spare time. She married Kenneth Springer in 1947 at Osawatomie, Kansas, he preceded her in death on May 19, 2002.

She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church and Zion Lutheran Ladies Aide Society.

Survivors include two daughters Nancy Kregar of Offerle and Linda DeBey of Cawker City. Three sons Michael Springer of Dodge City,Terry Springer of Omaha, Nebraska. and Jerry Springer of Kinsley. Two brothers Lloyd Stone of Olathe, Kansas and Francis Stone of Albuquerque, New Mexico, and one sister Dorothy Benner of Paola, Kansas She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother Merle Stone and two grandchildren.

Funeral service will be held at Zion Lutheran Church on Saturday, October 25, 2008 at 10:00 AM with Rev. Andrew Becker presiding. Burial will follow at Zion Lutheran Cemetery in rural Ford County. Visitation will be at Swaim Funeral Home on Friday, October 24, 2008 from 12:00 PM to 8:00 PM. Memorials can be made to Zion Lutheran Church or the American Cancer Society in care of the funeral home.
