ELNORA 'NORA' JANE McCLINTOCK MILLER

Funeral services for Nora Jane Miller, 78, of Cookeville, will be held at 1 p.m. on Monday, Jan. 22, at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Burial will be in Crest Lawn Memorial Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 5-9 p.m. today, Sunday, Jan. 21, at Whitson Funeral Home; and from Noon until 12:45 p.m. on Monday, at the church.

Mrs. Miller died Friday, Jan. 19, 2007, in Cookeville Regional Medical Center.

She was born May 26, 1928, in Osawatomie, Kan. to the late William Davis and Ethel Mae (Surprise) McClintock.

Mrs. Miller was a retired school teacher with the Putnam County School System. She was of the LDS-Mormon faith and a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She was a member of TOPS Club, past president of Tech Faculty Women's Club, Literacy Council, church choir member and church pianist. Mrs. Miller was also a Jr. Sunday School teacher and taught 23 years (Tech training, Capshaw and Northeast) also at TTU. She also taught CED classes at the Cookeville jail and the Adult High School. She was an avid bicyclist and rode 70 miles on her 70th birthday in several week-long touring rides.

She had her BS degree from Kansas State Univ., her MS degree from TTU and her EDS degree from TTU. Mrs. Miller also attended Ursuline College in Paola, Kan.

Her family includes her husband, Paul Rader Miller of Cookeville; a daughter, Susan Cohoe Griego of Lakeland, Fla.; a son and daughter-in-law, Paul Dennis and Pamela Rose Miller of Cookeville; five grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Leslie McClintock; and three sisters, Clara Dickerson, Virginia Mullins and Alice Powell.

Pallbearers will be three grandsons, Sam Foxworth, and Charlie and Dan Griego, Bill Vail, Michael and Aaron Spears, Jed Dunn and Chad Day.

Bishop Bruce Heap, Linda Vail and Joel Martin will officiate at the services.
