Fern L. Estes, 80, Overland Park, Kan., passed away Monday, November 10, 2008. Visitation will begin at 10 a.m., with a Celebration of Life service at noon on Saturday, November 15, at the Overland Park Church of the Nazarene.

Fern was born May 16, 1928, in Scranton, Kan., to William F. and Cora (Shields) Gabler. She was a 1946 graduate of Osawatomie High School.

Fern is survived by her husband, Charles "Doug" Estes of the home; three children, Debbie (Bill) Mize, Overland Park, Kan., Daryl (Pam) Estes, Overland Park, Kan., and Darlene (Bob) Covell, Shawnee, Kan.; seven grandchildren, Melissa (Colin) McDonald, Eric Covell, Nathan (Susan) Mize, Laura (Jeff) Hamons, Kevin Mize, Daniel (Stefanie) Estes, Andrea (Benny) Bowers, and four great grandchildren, Connor McDonald, Parker McDonald, Elise Hamons and Kaitlyn Mize.
