Lillian Marie Bartlett, 73, Osawatomie, died Sunday, Dec. 30, 2001, in Olathe Medical Center.

She was born Feb. 14, 1928, near Osawatomie, the daughter of Teddy Ivan and Maude Ellen Coker Cartwright. She was the youngest of their two children. She grew up in the Osawatomie area, attended local schools and graduated from Osawatomie High School in 1946.

She and Leonard Frederick Bartlett were married Nov. 25, 1948, in Lane. They became the parents of five children. Their marriage ended in divorce Oct. 23, 1974.

Mrs. Bartlett worked as a cook at Osawatomie High School and sold Avon products before going to work as a cook at Osawatomie State Hospital in 1978. She retired in 1993.

Her memberships included Osawatomie Rebekah Lodge No. 336, Green Valley Social Club, Missouri Pacific Women's Club, Retired Cooks Association and the Osawatomie Alumni Association.

Those preceding her in death included a grandson, Joshuah Bartlett.

Survivors include her daughter, Phyllis Sanders of Iola; four sons, Glenn Bartlett of Eudora, Jess Bartlett of Wyandotte, Okla., Richard E. Bartlett of Austin, Texas, and Ted Bartlett of Osawatomie; her brother, Harold Cartwright of Osawatomie; eight grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Services were Thursday in Eddy-Birchard Funeral Home in Osawatomie. Musical selections were provided by her sons. Richard E. Bartlett sang "Wind Beneath My Wings". Jess Bartlett provided a ballad titled "IOU". Grandson Eric Sanders sang "Angels Among Us".

Rebekah services were conducted by Osawatomie Rebekah Lodge No. 336. Burial was in Green Valley Cemetery. Pallbearers were Glenn Bartlett, Jess Bartlett, Richard Bartlett, Teddy Bartlett, Harv Sanders, Eric Sanders, Brian Bartlett, Alex Bartlett, Harold Cartwright and Jeremy Bartlett. Honorary pallbearers were Charles Hill and great-grandsons Christian Sanders and Joshuah Bartlett.
