Tucson, Ariz. - - Services for JoAnn E. 'Jodie' Cockran Kirk, Tucson, were held Saturday in Tanque Verde Lutheran Church, followed by burial in Tucson Memorial Park, East Lawn.

Mrs. Kirk, 70, died Wednesday, Dec. 24, 1997.

She was born June 14, 1927 in Osawatomie, Kan., the daughter of George Clayton and Mildred Augusta Kincheloe Cockran. She grew up in the Osawatomie community and attended local schools, graduating from Osawatomie High School in 1945. She attended Baker University.

During her 30 years in Osawatomie, she worked at "The Tavern" while attending high school. Later, she worked for her father as office manager for Cockran Implement and Motor Co. for several years. During World War II, she worked in Kansas City at Lindy Air and in Olathe at the Naval Air Station. She also worked at Fluor Corp. in Paola.

She had spent the past 40 years in Tucson and was a member of the DeGrazia Art Guild for many years.

Survivors include her husband, C. Russell Kirk, of the home; a daughter, Robin Kirk; a sister, Marvelle Dunaway, Osawatomie; a brother, Robert Kirk; and two grandsons.
