HOWARD BIGGERSTAFF

Howard F. Biggerstaff, victim of a car wreck, died Sunday, May 2, 1948, aged 20 years, 9 months, and 29 days. He was born July 3, 1927, the son of Elda H. and Iona Biggerstaff in Osawatomie and grew to manhood there. He attended the Osawatomie schools and always took an active part in athletics and all school activities. He graduated in 1945.

He worked for the Texaco Oil company until entering the service September 10, 1945. He served in China and Korea and received his discharge February 3, 1946. Since his return he had been employed by the Kansas State Highway Commission, and had just completed an examination for advancement. He was a member of the Presbyterian church.

He is survived by his parents, two sisters, Mrs. Anita Veatch of Kansas City, and Mrs. Laura May Simon of Chitose Air Base, Japan; his paternal grandparents and several uncles and aunts.

Rev. Frank Kirtley of Fontana officiated at the funeral services which were held at the Presbyterian church at two o'clock Friday afternoon. Organ music was furnished by Rex Grow. Military services were conducted at the grave in the Osawatomie cemetery.
