DECEMBER 3, 1926 - DECEMBER 3, 1986

Arthur William "Pete" Peterson, 60, of Coffeyville, Kansas died at his home on December 3,1986. He was born December 3,1926 in Topeka, Kansas to Arthur Wilhelm and Garnet Faye (Spangler) Peterson.

His parents moved to Osawatomie when he was an infant. He attended school in Osawatomie graduating with the class of 1944. After graduation he served in the Navy until his discharge in 1946. He returned to Osawatomie and began employment with the Missouri Pacific Railroad.

On June 21,1955 he married Betty Jane Grimm in Santa Fe, New Mexico. The couple moved to Coffeyville in 1957. She preceded him in death on June 24,1967. He retired from the railroad as a locomotive engineer in 1985.

He was a member of the Pentecostal Holiness Church, Brotherhood of Locomotive Engineers #336, VFW Post 1022, American Legion Post 20, and the Order of Elks Lodge 0921. He also had a love for animals and old vehicles.

Survivors include a daughter Debra Davis of Gardner, Kansas; three step children, Victor Jarett of Lenexa, Kansas, Peggy Jarett of Springfield, Missouri, Ed Jarett of Coffeyville, Kansas; two sisters, Mavis Sylvester of Burbank, California, Doris Day of Osawatomie; and two granddaughters and six step grandchildren.

Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Monday in the Ford-Wulf-Bruns Edgewood Chapel with burial in Fairview Cemetery. A memorial has been established to the American Heart Association.
