JOANN SHEROD TROUTMAN

JoAnn Sherod Troutman, 77, Osawatomie, died Saturday, Nov. 9, 2002 in Olathe Medical Center.

She was born March 13, 1925, in Stanton Township in Miami County to Harry Rivers and Laura Emaline Hatfield Sherod. She grew up in Osawatomie and graduated in 1943 from Osawatomie High School.

During World War II, she worked in St. Louis, Mo., in the ammunition plant.

She married LeRoy Troutman March 26, 1946, in Fort Scott. After their marriage, they lived in Osawatomie. They became the parents of two children. Her husband preceded her in death in 1998.

Mrs. Troutman was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Osawatomie.

She enjoyed reading, fishing and gardening.

A brother, Clyde Sherod, and two sisters, Mildred Walden and Marian Sherod, also preceded her in death.

Survivors include her daughter, JoyLee Burns, and her son, Troy M. Troutman, both of Osawatomie; two sisters, Virginia Wakeland and Bernice Coffey, both of Wichita; five grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

A private family burial was in the Cadmus Cemetery, rural Linn County.
