NOVEMBER 18, 1925 - AUGUST 28, 2002 

Erma Lou Billhimer Oakley, 76, of Kansas City, MO, passed away Wednesday, August 28, 2002, in her home with her family. Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Friday, August 30, at the Park Lawn Chapel, Hillcrest Road at 83rd Street. Funeral services will be 2 p.m., Saturday, at the chapel. Burial will be in Green Lawn Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to Christ Lutheran Church Building Fund or to Kansas City Hospice and may be left with the funeral home.

Erma was born November 18, 1925 in Osawatomie, KS, to Gusta and Lillie Billhimer. She graduated from Osawatomie High School in 1943. Erma married the love of her life, Albert Oakley, on January 2, 1944. She was a homemaker and later worked for Marion Laboratories until her retirement in 1989. Erma and Al loved spending time together and traveling. Survivors include her husband of 48 years, Albert "Al" Oakley, of the home; two daughters and sons-in-law, Linda and Fred Kennedy, Circleville, OH and Diane and Jim Northcraft, Olathe, KS; her sister and brother-in-law, Rosalie and James Van Horn, Jr.; and five grandchildren, Andy, Craig, Beth, Nicole and Adam.
