Ernestine L. Fife, 76, Overland Park, a native of Osawatomie, died October 1, 2001 at Shawnee Mission Medical Center.

Known as Ernie, she was born Nov. 11, 1924 in Osawatomie.

Mrs. Fife was an avid shopper and was known to have never met a stranger.

Those surviving are her husband of 55 years, Joe Fife of the home; a son, Ron Fife of West Palm Beach, FL; a daughter, Debbie Skirchak of Olathe; a sister, Gwendolyn Williamson of Osawatomie; a stepsister, Shirley Laxton of Corning, AZ; and four grandchildren.

Services were in the McGilley & Hoge Chapel in Overland Park with burial in Johnson County Memorial Gardens.

Memorials were to City Union Mission, Kansas City, MO.
