Jane Spears, 82, Iola, a Louisburg native and former Osawatomie resident, died Saturday, March 11, 2006.

She was born Dec. 17, 1923, in Louisburg, the daughter of Robert E. and Alta H. Wise Lee. She grew up in the Louisburg and Osawatomie areas and graduated in 1942 from Osawatomie High School. She attended Ottawa University.

She married Bill Spears on June 22, 1952, in the First Baptist Church in Louisburg, where she had been a member since 1943.

Mrs. Spears was known for her strong devotion to her family.

Those surviving are her husband, Bill Spears of the home; two sons, Harrison Lee Spears of Arlington, Texas, and Tim Spears of Iola; her daughter, Sandra Braswell of Bonner Springs; her twin sister, Jean McClintock of Louisburg; and six grandchildren.

Friends and family may call from 1 p.m. to service time at 2 p.m. today in the church. Burial will be in Louisburg Cemetery.
