NAOMI SMITH McCULLOUGH

Naomi L. McCullough, 87, Willmar, Minn., a former Osawatomie area resident, died Saturday, Dec. 24, 2011, in Pleasantview Nursing Home in Willmar.

She was born March 5, 1925, in the rural farm home of her parents, Roy and Edna Baird Smith southwest of Beagle. She grew up in the area and was a 1941 graduate of Osawatomie High School.

She and Harry P. McCullough Jr. were married in 1945 after he had returned from serving in World War II. They made their home in Osawatomie until the early 1950s.

Her faith, family and work ethic were always consistent driving forces throughout her life. She attended and was active in the Assemblies of God in Osawatomie, Paola, Wichita and Newton.

Mrs. McCullough worked for several years in the Miami County National Bank in Paola and the Midland National Bank in Newton, from where she retired as an assistant cashier with 29 years of service in 1990.

Those preceding her in death included her husband and a stepbrother.

After retirement she lived in Paola, keeping busy in church and with the Foster Grandparent Program.

Survivors include her son, H. Paul McCullough of Willmar; her daughter Cheryl Westcott of Phoenix; a brother Donald L. Smith of Garnett; and two grandchildren.

Services were Friday in the Cross Point Assembly of God in Paola. Burial was in Paola Cemetery.
