Graveside services for June Irene Bonner, 404 Pacific Ave., Osawatomie, were held Monday in Osawatomie Cemetery.

Mrs. Bonner, 73, died Friday, Sept. 29, 1995 in Heritage Manor.

The daughter of James Samuel and Audree Mae Ellis Simon, she was born May 13, 1922 in Chanute. The family lived in a number of communities because of her father's employment with the Missouri Pacific Railroad. They moved to Osawatomie in the late 1930s from Sedalia, Mo. She was a 1941 graduate of Osawatomie High School.

She and Eddie Bonner were married in 1940 in Osawatomie where they made their home. They became the parents of three children before their marriage ended in divorce in 1956.

Mrs. Bonner was employed as an alcoholism counselor at the Osawatomie State Hospital from Oct. 1, 1973 until May 16, 1986.

She was a member of St. Philip Neri Catholic Church of Osawatomie.

Among those preceding her in death were a daughter, Leanna Buckman, and a brother, James Samuel Simon Jr.

Survivors include two sons, Edward Michael Bonner, Jr., Indianapolis, Ind. and Stephen E. Bonner, Osawatomie; a sister, Betty Kennedy, Osawatomie; and 13 grandchildren.

The Rev. Doyle Carroll officiated.

A memorial has been established in her name to Midland Hospice.
