GEORGE ALAN JUDD

CLASS OF 1941

George Alan Judd, 75, a native of Spring Hill and former resident of Osawatomie, died Saturday, Sept 5, 1998 at his home in Kansas City, Kan.

He was born May 14, 1923 in rural Spring Hill, the third of four children of George C. and Mary A. Dempsey Judd. He attended Osawatomie schools, graduating with the Class of 1941.

Following high school he served in the United States Army Air Corps during World War II.

Mr. Judd worked for the Missouri Pacific and Santa Fe Railroads, retiring from the Santa Fe in 1984 after 42 years of service.

He was married to Louise Waltman in 1942, and they became the parents of a son, Tim. He married Adaline Knab Brown in 1974.

He was a lifetime member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 10552 and American Legion Post No. 327, both of Shawnee, Kansas City Moose Lodge No. 1999 and Grand Lodge Ben Hur No. 322.

Preceding him in death were his parents; a brother, Jack; a stepson, Howard "Dutch' Brown; and a grandson, Bill Judd.

Survivors include his wife, Adaline Judd of the home; a son, Tim Judd of Gladstone, Mo.; a stepdaughter, Pam Smith of Ingalls, Kan.; two sisters, Alice Stahl of Spring Hill and Bessie Bird of Osawatomie; nine grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.

Services were at 1 p.m. today (Wednesday) at the Maple HIll Funeral Home in Kansas City. Burial was in the Maple Hill Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Kansas City Moose Lodge No. 1999.
