ELIZABETH SHEEHAN WILLIAMS

FEBRUARY 3, 1922 - SEPTEMBER 2, 2012

Elizabeth Sheehan Williams, 90, of Lenexa, died September 2, 2012, at Villa St. Francis Nursing Home.

Elizabeth, known to her friends and family as Liz, was born Feb. 3, 1922. She graduated from Osawatomie High School in 1940 and went on to graduate from the Kansas City School of Business. During WWII, Elizabeth was a supervisor in the employment office of Pratt Whitney. She was the last employee to leave that office after the war.

After 35 years of employment at Mobile Oil Co., she retired in 1986. Elizabeth was someone who liked to stay busy. During her retirement. she spent many hours volunteering within the community. She was a volunteer for the Red Cross, Grey Ladies at Menorah Hospital, Kansas City Democrats and very active with the Daughters of Isabella at Holy Trinity Catholic Church.

Elizabeth was preceded in death by her husband, Robert V. Williams in 1979, her brother John E. Sheehan, sisters Pauline Buckner and Rosemary Moler. She is survived by her sisters Helen Henderson, Overland Park, and Dorothy Bohr, Lenexa, her step-sons, Steven E. Williams and his wife Jean, Shawnee, Robert V. Williams, Jr., and his wife Chris, Homewood, IL, four step-granddaughters, two step-grandsons, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation was on Saturday, September 8, at Oakland Cemetery in Moberly followed by a reception in Fellowship Hall, Trinity United Methodist Church, Moberly.

The family wishes to thank Inge Fry, Natalie Drybread, Hazel Haskins, Era Brown, and Kathleen Baker for their loving care of Virginia.
